Long Monday

I have long Monday this quarter. I have to stay in school from 9am to 9pm. My first class, which is lab starts at 9am and my last class ends at 9pm. I didn't like having a class that late but I couldn't take any other classes because they were already full. So I went to 9pm class last Monday. There are supposed to be more than 20 people in the class but since it is late class, most people went to other section as my TA told us. Not many people want to stay in school that late. Before I went to the class, I thought the same but now I prefer 9pm class. It is not that bad. I can stay in library to study till the class and the class isn't packed. So I feel comfortable in the class. I also like to walk in the quiet campus at night with cool air to clear my mind from all the study before I go to sleep. At night, the deer was on the street close to my place. I usually see deers as a group but that night the deer was along, standing on the street. I was worried that the car behind me would realize and not hit the deer. I checked the car in the mirror. Luckily he realized and didn't hit the deer. I like seeing bunnies, deers around our place. They are so cute. I hope they stay along here as long as they can.

Is this Friday or ... ?

I can't believe it is still Wed. I feel like it is Friday today. I am so exhausted. Two more days to go for the 2nd week of school.
The lab wears me off. It is a four-hour lab and twice a week from 9:00am to 1:00pm. No water and No food during the lab. I get hungry by the end of lab but I don't feel it because I am so concentrated and become tired.
Chemistry lab is like cooking + thinking what you are doing and why you are doing and what is happening. When the theoretical guess doesn't match with the physical test, I have to think and there are so many things to do and there are so many ways to do.
It is FUN, especially like today when I broke the bottom of the test tube which contained silver nitrate and sprashed myself with silver nitrate by accident and the coat became partially silver, but makes me tired.
But at least I am thinking, it must make my brain better. I like thinking, especially logical thinking in Science, not English class though.

First week of school -real version-

School started on Thursday. First week of school finished. I haven't started my lab class, which starts on Monday. So far, I can tell my life will be busy again. Inorganic and biochemistry don't sound bad but Synthesis class will be. The teacher already told us that this class is hard. One after another, why are classes I am required to take so hard. I thought I finished hard part of P-chem last year. I didn't know that all the sysnthesis classes are hard. I have three more synthesis classes and all synthesis classes I have to take are also graduate classes. Half of the students in those classes are graduate students. It isn't fair, I think. I am so tired of being a student and want to finish school as soon as possible. But it seems like there is no easy way out. ha.... Anyway, I just have to keep going. My friends told me that the lab I am going to start from Monday is tough as well. I am not sure if I should take four classes. If the lab is really hard, I have to drop one of them. ... Too much to do... Anyway, I am not the first person whose major is molecular synthesis. So there must be a way to finish it, though Grade A is not guaranteeded. On Monday I will see how hard the lab class is and I will decide which class I should keep taking...

Chocolate

Most of my friends know, I don't like sweets so much. When I was in Belgium, I bought Leonidas, One of fine Belgium chocolate first time because I heard it is good. I sent stuff I bought in Europe from Delft, Netherlands with the chocolate. I got the package today. I open the box, found stuff I bought and they made me smile. I saw candle Pavla gave me first, then Calypso sauce, Gali, Hot chocolate Pavla gave me, Nutella, some sweets I bought in Belgium and lastly Leonidas. I wanted to have very fine sweets yesterday and today. So I boiled water and prepared my favorite tea from Mariage Freres, The Rouge Bourbon Vanilla, opened the box of chocolate, put one chocolate in my mouth. Oh my gosh, the chocolate was soooo good. I had two more. I really like this chocolate company.

First week of school

I was so sick last night. Thinking of going back to school makes me sick. I really don't want to go bakc to school but in order to finish it, I just have keep going. No matter what, I keep going in order to finish school. Life is always like that, we just have to keep going. I love chemistry but I am just getting tired of being student. Tired of feeling being always chased by school. Too much to do. I feel sick especially this quarter because I have four science classes, one Chem lab and three chem lectures. I know this is too much but I will try and see if I can make it. If not, just drop one of them. Because of this heavy load in school, I won't be obsessed with getting As. I will work as hard as I can. That is all I will do this quarter. This was what I was thinking last night.

This morning, I woke up at 6AM and got ready to go to school. Ten minutes before the lab starts, I am waiting in front of lab room. 5 minutes passed, noboby show up. I am getting freaking out. Where are the people? Where is our TA? If we don't show up on the first day of lab, we will be automatically dropped from the class. I didn't want to be dropped. I was getting really worried. One girl I know from the other class showed up. So I asked her if she is looking for a room for same Chemistry lab room. She was and we were talking and waiting. Nobody showed up by 9AM, which the time the class should start. So we got concerned and went to the library where we can use PC. We checked online and found out that the class will start from 25th of Sep. I felt I was stupid. I didn't read the little red sentences in the schedule. We headed to the library since both of us had another classes.

I went to get a bottle of water on the way to library and she went to the post office. So we said good bye to each other.

When I got to the library, I checked the schedule again.

Fall quarter starts on 18 Sep.
Instruction starts on 21 Sep.

Ops, I didn't see that. I thought classes starts from today but it wasn't. It is a good news but I felt stupid. I felt I wasted my time!!!!!!!

I thought it was strange this year because usually the school starts from Thurs., not Monday. damn. ha ...

Oh well, at least I got three more days to rest before school starts.

I appreciate that she was there today. Otherwise I was totally freaking out in front of the lab.
